greetings. I use Word 2000 and 2002 on different machines and I want a
bullet and number list feature to be the same.
In W2000 when at the beginning of a bullet or number list line I press tab
to demote the line to the next level of outline. In W2002 the same action
inserts a tab but leaves the bullet or number at the same level. There
appears to be no way of demoting the line except to increase indent on the
toobar, which is a pain.
Is there a way to make W2002 behave like W2000?
thanks; Kozmo

I think you question should be, "Is there a way to make numbering behave?"!
Basically, the answer is MAYBE, but if you read up on numbering at
http://www.word.mvps.org/faqs/numbering/WordsNumberingExplained.htm you'll
find some sound ways to use numbering successfully.

On the AutoFormat As You Type tab of Tools | AutoCorrect Options, check the
box for "Set left- and first-indent with tabs and backspaces."
