installation of word 2000

ive bought microsoft works suite 2000, everything
installs fine except word, which comes up with this
message half way through installation:
Error 1305.Error reading from file:
D:\MSWord\PFiles\MSOffice\Office\WINWORD.EXE. Verify that
the file exists and that you can access it

I don't really understand what this means, any help would
be appreciated

To me, it sounds like the data on the CD has become corrupted.

I agree with Herb - the installation disc is corrupt. Check the disc for
damage or fingerprints and if that doesn't effect an improvement, return it
for replacement.
