I have Word2003.

On pressing the "Open" button on the menu bar a dialogue box appears.

In the "File Name" drop-down box, what is the proper way to use this because
when I add the path to a file all I get is an error message saying "The file
name or format is not valid!"?

Is there some new procedure required for Word2003, because it worked fine
for Word2000 which I had before?

Please help, Frank

If you are adding a path - does it work if you put quotes around the
filename/path eg
"c:\path\filename.doc" ?
If so see :
