When I try to backup the bcm data directly to the cd, i get an error message
"Invalid Drive Type for backup file storage". I am able to directly backup
to the cd, the outlook data but the problem is only when i try to backup the
bcm data. Any headsup on this would be appreciated.

Thanks and Regards

I believe this is a MSDE/SQL Server issue. It can't backup to
write-once media. Backup to your harddisk and then copy the backup
files to the CD.

Is there any KB article by MS that states this?

I basically want to make sure my client understands this.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks and Regards

AN,
Not to intrude, but here is an Assistance Article:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HP010326551033.aspx
that refers to the currently released version of BCM.
We have had best success in backing up in the method suggested.

Perfect. This is exactly what we are also doing. But the problem is that we
are not able to write to a CD drive directly. We are successful in saving it
to the hard drive.

Any more inputs would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and Regards

AN,
Another suggestion, may not apply.
My Computer/right click on cdrw drive/properties/recording tab
make sure the check box for "enable CD recording on this drive" is selected.
