How do I resolve "Report could not be generated" error message

I am trying to open the report generator but keep getting the error message
"the report could not be generated. Please try again". Does anyone know how
to resolve this?

What are the versions of BCM and .NET Framework installed on your machine?
Please check the versions from Control Panel --> Add-Remove Programs
