... I get a message saying I can't ahve more than 50 categories, but I don't
have that many selected.  Actually I only have 25 categories in the master
list and my actions are still being limited by the program.
I want to be able to fully utalize the business contacts program with 50
operational categories.  I am using Windows XP with Microsoft Office Outlook.

Thanks

Hi

For the error message that you stated try the following  steps

1. With the "Inbox" selected, on the "Edit" menu, click "Categories".

2. In the "Categories" dialog box, click "Master Category List".

3. In the list of Categories, click to select the one you want to remove,
then
click "Delete".  Repeat until you have removed all Categories you wish to
delete.

4. In the "New Category" box, type the name of a new category, and then
click
"Add".

5. Click "OK" to close the "Master Category List" dialog box.

6. Click "OK" to close the "Categories" dialog box.

If you find that the you not have 50 Categories appearing in the list,
empty their Deleted Items folder.  This should resolve the error.

Hope this helps

I had the same problem, but this suggestion didn't solve it.  I keep seeing
this issue come up in other troubleshooting sections, but without solutions.
I only have about 15 categories in the master category list, no contacts in
the business contacts folder, and it won't let me move any of my regular
contacts over, stating the 50 category limitation.  What else can we try?
