After upgrading from Win XP PRO SP2 to Vista Ultimate, cannot restore BCM 2007
database.  Error message says "Cannot restore this database because you were
not authorized to back up or restore databases when this one was originally
backed up.  For more information, contact the database owner or the system
administrator for more information".

Drag and drop individual contacts, copied to a seperate file before upgrade,
does not work either.  Error message says "Cannot copy the items.  Business
Contact Manager for Outlook cannot save this Business Contact, as it has an
invalid value Assigned To User.  Either set a valid value, or create a new
Business Contact record to store the information".

I have several hundred contacts and supporting information in this data
base.  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks...

When you upgrade from XP to Vista, GUID for user account changes and for
some reason the user becomes invalid from SQL perspective. To fix the
problem, you will need to start Outlook as administrator. Note that in Vista
even if you are logged as administrator, programs don't run with
administrator priviledges.

In order to run Outlook as administrator, browse to Outlook.exe file where
you installed Office, right click it and select "Run as Administrator". This
should fix your restore issue.

Please let me know if you doesn't work.

I had to re-do my Vista, with Outlook2007 along with it. Same with BCM. Ran
into the same problem. Opening as Adminstrator did the trick. THANKS!!!

Question... I run on one machine only. Should I just change the opening way
in the icon Properties/Compalities to run as admin all the time?
