Yes the communication history. The imported notes all have the imported date
and appear in reverse order so if i have the new notes on top the the oldest
imported note is also at the top of the imported date.
Christopher and Lon:
So that the Microsoft team can become aware that your reported results after
importing ACT! 6 data isn't isolated, I've had exactly the same experience,
with the following twist. All of my ACT! history is listed in BCM 3 as having
occurred on the date/time the import was done, but I also see what I think
are duplicates of the "same date as conversion" items that have retained what
appears to be their correct dates/times. In other words, I think the
conversion program may be duplicating all of the ACT! history, with one
"correct" version, and one with the bogus time/date.
If you have lot's of history items (as I have -- about 9 years' worth), it
may be very time consuming to determine if what I suspect is true (this is
why I only "suspect" at this point). If it IS true, however, you may be able
to simply delete the duplicates with the wrong date/time, and have an
accurate conversion. Unless I'm mistaken, though, you'd need to do this for
each contact INDIVIDUALLY -- nasty if you have hundreds of contacts!
Please repost on this issue if you can confirm any of my suspicions (I'll do
the same if I can find the time to do the tedious cross checking...). One
concern would be that by deleting the "bad" duplicate, the "good" one isn't
affected. and that your former activities, calls, todos, etc., ALL respond to
the delete process similarly, i.e., by NOT affecting the "good" copy.
Hope this helps. Thanks.

Quick update -- I just sorted the "Subject" column of one contact's
Communication History window and see "bad" date/time duplicates for nearly
every history that I converted from ACT!6. There seems to be a few rare
Business Notes and Tasks that don't have duplicates when sorting in this
fashion, but at quick glance, all of the Meetings seem to have bad twins.
Perhaps you'll find the same in your data.

Gentlemen:
I imported my ACT! database so long ago that I can't remember all the
details, and I've been through so many beta versions of BCM2007 that I can't
be sure which is which...
However, the Created Date does show the date of import but the DUE DATE is
the date of the original meeting or Note. If it was a Phone Log, the Start
Date is the original date. I was able to get a little better display of the
date by selecting Received from All Post Fields.
Bottom line: all ACT! users would be thrilled if the Created Date was set
to the original entry date from ACT. One note: the date that displays in
the Note/History view is called the History Date. There is also a Created
Date for the note that never gets displayed. We did a report a long time
ago that would compare the Created Date with the History Date (which the
user can change to show they were updating data more frequently than they
really were) to show which people were lying.
Hope that helps,
Lon

The creation date issue has always been an issue when importing data
into Outlook. Outlook controls that, and an item's modified date,
quite closely and does not allow others to change it.
