I am trying to import a list of contacts from excel and I want to make all of
these names import as leads.  How do I make the contacts come in and be
classified as leads?  I did make a column in excel and named all contacts
leads in this column and then mapped the lead column from excel to the lead
map for BCM but it did not correct my attempt to keep the import into a lead
status.

To import contacts as leads you need to include a column in your csv file
called "Lead" and set a vaule for each contact to "True" for lead or "False"
for contact.

Try value "True" or "False"

I am guessing, you are using BCM 2007. (If you're using 2003, it will be
different.)
Example:
First Name    Last Name ...    Lead
Joe                Smith                TRUE
Jack              Smith                FALSE
Joe Smith's lead status should be checked in bcm after you import, and Jack
Smith's will be unchecked
