Using Outlook 2007 Contacts as database for mail/merge. How do I identify
the picture in a Business Card as a column in the outlook database file?
Want to make a catalog of contacts for a church register
Not sure that I'm providing the answer that you requested, but the
picture itself is most likely NOT stored in a column in the database
file. Most likely it's been stored as a type IMAGE. In which case
all you'll see in the table is a column with a 16-bit pointer to an
off-table 8K date page that stores the image, and if the image exceeds
that 8K date page, there will be a pointer to the NEXT 8K data page,
and on and on. So, I don't think you'll 'see' the value, like you
might a text value in a column.
Does that answer the question?

I selected "All contact fields" to display the "Output Data File" and I found
no column with a 16-bit pointer. There is an Icon; however, clicking on it
just plays back the Business Card with all information on it. I only want
the picture! Any other ideas?

I believe the answer is to use Publisher 2007's Catalog Merge but I don't
know the exact procedures. I'm working on a project now and should have the
answer in the next few days. If someone else knows, please jump in.
Thanks,
Lon
