Hi there,

When someone new emails me using Outlook 2007 (had same problem in previous
versions) if I want to be able to add their email address to contacts, it
only gives me the option to add them to the general contacts. Not directly
to the BCM business contacts.

This is a bit annoying as then I have to find them in the normal contacts
and drag them over. Is there a way to add directly to business contacts?

Thanks

Highlight the email, then click Email Auto Linking.  You'll see their email
address in the list.  Check the email address, click OK, and it will create
a BCM contact record for that email address.

HTH,
Lon

Hi -
Sounds like you found an anwser - but

what the heck IS 'Email Auto Linking'.... it could sound like MS has
invented some kind of remedy/fix for their Design bugs but why dont they
telle us about it??

Per:

A couple of answers come to mind... The first is that in the US we're so
fixated on our cars that we now link our email to them.  Email arrives into
the radio via WiMax or satellite, is translated to speech, and spoken to us
while driving like a bat out of hell.  Microsoft added this to BCM to test
out how we react to being linked to email ALL the time.

Second answer:  It's a button on the toolbar that sits there patiently
waiting for someone to click it, then post a question on this discussion
group.

Hope that helps,
Lon
