Hi,

I'm having a problem inporting my contacts from Outlook 2007 into BCM2007.

I can import them all as contacts in BCM, but I can't import them as
Accounts (so that I can then link Contacts to Accounts. If I try dragging &
droping into Accounts, then the name of the contact becomes the "Account
Name".

Any suggestions? I'm trying to use a shared database on Small Business
Server 2003.
Regards
Colin

I believe you have to make Accounts seperately, no way to import them.  There
have been other posts on this subject so you may want to search a little
farther.

Cheers, Ed,
Interestingly, the BCM2003 version allowed you to select whether you are
importing "Accounts" or "Business Contacts" which appears to have been left
out of the 2007 offering - pity, really.

I have managed to find a way around the problem, but that involved
"re-filing" from First/Last name order into Company. However, there are 2
problems with this...
1. To do it across a large number of contacts is, to say the least, a hassle!
2. When I then look at how the names appear on my mobile 'phone (synched
with Outlook, I just see a long list of company names!

Hey, ho... in frustration, I've downloaded to Excel & have just finished
sorting this ready to import back into BCM

Cheers, again
Colin
