My computer crashed last week and I've reinstalled BCM.  I just now need to
now to know how to load my old data to the new program.

When I installed it it asked if I wanted to create a new database or to use
an existing one.  When I said an existing one, it gave me no files/drives to
browse. The field was blank and I couldnt type anything in.

After that, I went with "create a new database" option and then looked to
see if I could import the old data.  What should the data file say that I'm
looking for?  I would not have changed the name...I would have accepted the
default name offereed.  I'm unable to find a file it will import and I'm sure
the data is there from my using the program before.

How do I recapture my old data and get it into my newly created BCM program??

Hi Rich,

Go to
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Business Contact Manager

folder and see if you find any databases in there.

You have to enable hidden folders to see Local Settings folder.

If you do find the mdf and ldf files in there, then BCM should use them.  If
there is only one, then you will not see the page in the startup wizard where
it will ask for selection of databases.  In this case, it will select the
default one.

If there are more than one, then you should see all the databases in there.
