I have a problem with a BCM database. I want to check it on another machine
with a fresh install. I have backed up the BCM database. Transfered it to the
second machine and it won't let me open it telling me I am not the owner of
the database!

I have the file password protected why has Microsoft deemed it necessary to
make this more difficult by default.

Not everyone who uses BCM has a depth of technical expertise. Making a
backup is simple. Password protecting it is child's play - needing a degree
to restore it  is not amusing.

Is there a simple way of allowing me to restore the backup to the second
machine that doesn't require a steep learning curve or reading pages of
technical jargon or to install programmes that I have no need of apart from
to get this thing tested which should only tae 5 minutes to complete????

Thanks,

Nigel
