BCM won't go away!

Every time I open a Microsoft Office component I get the message below. I
don't want to see it. Here is the background: Business Contact Manager
interfered with Outlook to the extent Outlook would not work at all. I
followed the directions in the help file and removed the Business Contact
Manager application. I even deleted the whole Office file and reinstalled
it. I tried to reinstall the BCM file but it would not reinstall Only the
Office Accounting application would install. I finally got Outlook to work
by going back to a previous day's restore point. I do not want Business
Outlook Manager. I just want to stop it trying to load every time I open an
Office application. I have tried disabling BCM as described in the help file
too. That got rid of the data files, but the error messages keep coming. I
have downloaded SP1 for the Office Suite, but I do not have a SP1 Disk. Help!

First message: Business Contact Mgr for Outlook 2007 SP1 "Please wait while
Windows configures Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2007 SP1. Second
message is: "The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other
removable Disk that is not available. Insert Business Contact Manager for
Outlook 2007 SP1 disk and click OK." Use box says source is "1." Third
message is: "Error 1706. No valid source could be found for product
Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2007 SP1. The Window Installer cannot
continue."

I presume that with this "removed the Business Contact Manager
application" you uninstalled BCM from "Add/remove Programs".

If so, then it sounds like the BCM Add-in for Office didn't get
removed. Check Word Options in the Word OutSpace (the round button in
the top left), look at add-ins and see if there's a BCM there.

Yes, the BCM Add-in is there. But, when I tried to remove it, I get the
following: "The connected state of Office Add-ins registered in
HKEY_LOCAL-MACHINE cannot be changed." I also note the following messages:
"Location:
C:ProgramFiles\microsoftSmallBusiness\BusinessContactManager\BcmhistoryAddin.dll and "Load Location:Load at StartUp"

So, now what? Should I just go to the C:ProgarmFiles, etc, and delete all
after "microsoft" or should I try to change the registry? If the latter
please tell me how. Also, I would assume this Add-in exists in the other
Office applications, so would one fix do the job for all?

Almost all the BCM files, including the DLL other Office apps call,
are in Program Files\Microsoft Small Business\BCM.

One way to force an uninstall of BCM when it doesn't show up in add/
remove is to use the BCM MSI (Windows installer package) directly.

Look in the Registry in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer
for an entry called Business Contact Manager. If you find it, look for
a key called UninstallString. That'll contain the command from
uninstalling BCM.

I went through the string to \Insatller, but no entry to Business Contact
Manager in the keys after that. There were some UninstallString entries but
deeper in the registry under User Data\ S-1-5-21\Products. They referred to
MsiExec.exe w/ a string of numbers and letters after them. Now what?

If you find an entry that refers to BCM then try running the msiexec
command in a command window. The string with letters and numbers is a
GUID (Globally Unique IDentifier) used to refer to component with
confusion (e.g. two programs with the same name--it happens--or
different version).

If you are on Vista, open the cmd window with right-click "Run as
Administrator".

Luther: Under Installer there is a subkey called Folders. In that folder
are 10 lines of code starting with: ab C:\Program Files\Microsoft Small
Business\Business Contact Manager\ I see no option to enter a command prompt
here. When I rght click on one of these lines I do have the option to
delete. I don't know where I would run msiexec. Please advise.

HELP! Are you there? Please respond to preceding question. I am still
receiving 3 pop-ups telling me BCM is trying to load, but can't find
components. How do I prevent these pop-up?
