My hard drive crashed and I am having to restore some old data.  No problem
with the .pst files, but I can not get the .mdf file recognized (attached).
I saved the original .mdf file to my desktop.  When using the database mgmt
options, the original file is not found and displayed as one that I can
change to.  Any recommendations?  How do I get the old .mdf file recognized
and attached?

Download the SQL 2005 Management Studio Express (free) and you can re-attach
your database using that tool.
