Hi,

I am starting a transition from ACT! to Business Contact Manager. At the
same time, I am switching machines (from XP to Vista).

On the XP machine (BCM 2003), there are 8 instances of both the primary .ldf
and .mdf files. (MSBusinessContactManager.ldf,
MSBusinessContactManager1.ldf.... MSBusinessContactManager7.ldf and
MSBusinessContactManager.mdf, MSBusinessContactManager1.mdf....
MSBusinessContactManager7.ldf) Each file type (.ldf and .mdf) has the same
size and time/date information.

After installing Business Contact Manager 2007 on the Vista machine there is
only one file for each file type, although the size is the same as that shown
on the Vista machine.

Any suggestions on how I can correct the problem on the XP machine, and how
to prevent problems in the future.

Thanks for any input that can be provided.

Jeff

It looks like you've made 8 attempts at creating a BCM database in XP and
BCM will consecutively number them.  You've only done this once on the Vista
PC.

Lon

Hi Lon,

Thanks for the reply.

You are correct that the eight instances were generated from the install /
conversion process (from ACT!).

The main question I have concerns the deletion of the unneccessary files.
Can the earlier files be removed, leaving only the last pair created? Or, do
I need to do something more involved through Outlook/BCM or SQL?

Thanks for any additional information you can provide.
