Trying to install the BCM SP4 update for Outlook 2003.  Near the end of the
install, this message pops up:

"Setup failed to install Microsoft Office 2003 with Business Contact Manager
SP4.  See [pathname on my computer] for more detail."

The log file it gives in the pathname does not exist in the folder that it
references nor anywhere else on my computer.

I run Vista Ultimate.  I have also installed the latest Windows updates.

Any ideas?

Did Sql Server 2005 get installed? It'll be in Add\Remove Programs if
it did.

Try running setup again. The package that fails to install should
leave a log of the installation attempt in c:\users\<yourlogin>\AppData
\Local\Temp. That log ought to have a clue as to why the installation
failed.

Thanks for continuing to help me, Luther.  It's very much appreciated.

I ran setup again.  Same thing except for the name of the log file is a
little different.  this is about the 4th time i've run setup.  Each time the
log file it references is different.  it always begins with
mbssetuptmp***.log.  there are several log files that begin with this name.
Just none that end with the last 4 letters/numbers that are in the error
message that pops up at then end of the install.  I've even tried searching
the entire computer including system, hidden or indexed files.

It's strange that it would have the wrong filename, as it's the
correct filename when I run into setup problems.

Do any of the log file's created date match the time when setup failed?

Yes, there are 6 of them.  All 5/8/08 at around 9:30pm.  Which is the same
time I installed Microsoft Accounting 2008 (free version).  But I did have
this problem both before and after that install. Thanks.

Help!  I'm having the same problem and can not find anything on the internet
or MS website.  This really stinks.
