I am having an issue with Business Contact Manager in Outlook 2003.

I haven't been using it, but when I start up Outlook, there is a lengthy
delay (30 seconds or so) and I get this error message:

Microsoft Business Contact Manager
There was a problem connecting to the database engine. To try again, please
click Retry. If problem persists, check Help.

When I 'Cancel' this message, I receive this error message:

Business Contact Manager
Business Contact Manager cannot load all of your data. Please try again
later. Also, make sure you have permissions to access this data. If you're
unsure, check with you systems administrator. If the problem persists,
contact Support. To locate contact information, click Business Contact
Manager Help on the Help menu, click Basics, and then click Contact Us.

After clicking 'OK', I am able to run Outlook fine, but the BCM features
will not work (I get the error messages again).

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thank you for your time and attention.

Hi Brian,
This error ('unable to connect to the database engine') occurs when trying
to access Business Contact Manager with a non-admin user id. The solution is
to logon to the machine as an administrator and add your user id in the
BCMUsers group. You should add your id as domain\user-id.
