Had to reformat the disk and reinstall Outlook alongwith BCM. When I opened
the outlook.pst from my backup, I could see the e-mail, address books, etc.
However, the BCM data is not there.

Where are the data - entered through BCM  - stored and how do I restore it
from my backup. The backup was not done through BCM backup. It was simple
forlder backup containing all files and folders under My Documents.

The BCM database is typically in this directory:

C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Business Contact Manager

Luther,

thanks for your reply on this, as I am trying to understand how BCM data is
stored.

I have a utility that until now scans my hard drive on a preset frequency,
and automatically backs up the data that has changed to an external drive.
It has been doing this for my Outlook files.   I would like to have the
utility also backup the files where the BCM data is stored.

The problem is that the MSSmallBusiness.ldf and MSSmallBusiness.mdf files do
not seem to contain the latest information.   I  have made changes to BCM but
the file date stamps are several hours prior to the changes.  I assume it has
to do with the cache file directory.

If I copy the complete C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Business Contact Manager   directory
including the cache files, will all the data then be backed up?

The point is not copying the compressed backup files, since these are not
real time due to the dependency on an actual backup command action from
within BCM beign executed --- (hope I am clear).

I want to back up any files needed to ensure real time data backup.

thanks
