OL 2003: Error When Trying To Open Recurring Appointments: "Can't open this item. The object could not be found."

Outlook Version OL 2003, SP1
Exchange Server 2003

We have a user who gets the message "Can't open this item. The object could
not be found." when she tries to open any recurring appointment. She does
not get the error with non-recurring appointments. Does anyone know what
the cause of this error might be? Thanks.
