Drag to change appointment

Outlook 2003/Exchange Server

When I drag an appointment from Date #1 to Date #2, my calendar view changes
to Date #2. But, is there a way to be automatically returned to Date #1 after
I drop the appointment on Date #2?

No.  Outlook presumes that you want to do something in view 2.
