Phil, it is possible with third-party utilities such as the service that
I offer at http://www.messagingreminder.com/. You don't have to pay for
the client software, or download any additional software, and you can
try it out for a month free!
I'm currently improving the service, so if you have any suggestions,
please forward them. And this is a side-project for me, so I'm more
than accessible for help. Thanks, Matt.

Matthew,
thanks for the information, your site must be down now, as my browser is
unable to find it. I will be on the look out for when you get it back up and
running.

In the meantime take a look at the utilities listed at
http://www.slipstick.com/addins/pager.htm, there are a number of them that
will send reminders to your cell phone or pager.
