Why do I receive reminders for declined meeting requests?

I have several users who, even though declining meeting requests, are
receiving reminders for those meetings.  One user is even receiving
"reminders" weeks after the meeting and, when clicking on "Dismiss", receives
an alert that states "The meeting cannot be deleted and you will receive this
message again".

How do I correct this?

Start Outlook one time with the /cleanreminders switch.
Start->run->outlook.exe /cleanreminders.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact.  Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.
