Why does the calendar folder list show Calendar(1)?

In Outlook XP, the calendar folder list shows Calendar(1), however, when I do
an Advanced Search for "unread" messages nothing appears in the search
results.

How can I get this Calendar to not show the (1) at the end, besides
searching for "unread" messages, since that did not work?

Have you tried changing your view of the Calendar folder to an unfiltered
table view, such as By Category, and manually scrolling through the list to
see if you can find the unread item?
