I am also looking to do this.
What i see on the screen is a red background  and apointments in white with
the tag color for Travel Green    Phone first is Yellow Ect

the tag color is printed but not the background  ( My work got a color laser )
they used to have black only and no color ink printer.

some time back i am sure  i switched off  print i color (print : Select
style : click the box print in grayscales  ), thats how i got it to print in
black  now unchecking the box no background color .
i know it can be done  i have seen  pages printed looking like screen  
yelow background ect.
