I get work orders with due dates in them
Due Date:xx/xx/xxxx
can I write a rule to search for this and then use this date to put the work
order in my calender?

Why not just drag the work order to your calendar to create the item?  Or to
your Task folder to create a task?

After furious head scratching, pgreer asked:

| Due Date:xx/xx/xxxx
| can I write a rule to search for this and then use this date to put
| the work order in my calender?
