I know that my calendar actually contains all of my appointments, because I
can export them into Excel and see them.  However, the calendar in Outlook
appears to be empty.  How can I make them appear?

How many calendar folders do you have and if you display the calendar by
categories, do all of the items show up?  Check to see if you have a filter
set on the calendar.

After furious head scratching, Lonnie asked:

I have the same problem! - I receive outlook reminders for my appointments
but have a blank calendar. Whenever I try to make appointments - my calendar
remains empty -
