How To Communicate With Meeting Attendees Without Update

Is it possible to communicate with all the attendees of a meeting, say just
to advise them of something, without this actually triggering an Update to
the meeting? When this happens, all the tracking responses get re-set to
"None". Of course, I can just send a separate email to all the meeting
attendees, but this isn't the same. Thanks for your help.

I'm using Outlook 2003 SP1.

No, the only 2 methods for imparting additional information to the attendees
is either the event invitation itself, which triggers the update prompt, or
a separate email.
