there must be an easy way to have outlook automatically & ALWAYS highlight
the current date on the month-view calendar so you can instantly zero in on
TODAY - have not been able to find any way of doing this in outlook help or
from internet - anyone know if this is possible?  thanks!

It does highlight but, based on your Windows Theme/Colors, it may not be
obvious.  Try playing around with Windows themes or colors to see what will
produce the best display.

What, pray tell, Theme/Color makes current date highlighting appear???  One
would think XP's default would work, it doesn't for me.  My Outlook's month
highlighting is always white, the same as the background until I click the
date--then there is a blue band across the top of the date square.  (The blue
band appears whenever any date is clicked.)

About the only way Ive found with OL2003 to get any decent highlighting is to
go into the calendar options and make the background color white (and grey)
for the most contrast with the grey shading bar across the top of a today
date on the calendar.

Ok sorry, more info--

It looks like the highlight bar is the same color as the Theme's grab bar
color.

But I've discovered I have a really weird problem:
When I go to the month calendar either by the menu, its shortcut, or folder
list,  I see a very brief flash of the highlight bar on the current date.
After the flash, it disappears.  If I then select View/Current
View/Day/WeekMonth the highbar comes back and stays.  (Note that
Day/Week/Month is already checkmarked in the menu.)  My Outlook says it is
2002SP3.  The only thing I've done to Outlook is add Lookout, but that was
after Microsoft bought Lookout, so that can't be a problem.  Thanks for your
help!
Mike

One more interesting thing:  if a date is selected with a mouse click, the
highlifhgt bar moves to that date.  But if the Calender is scolled
vertically, the highlight doesn't stay on the date, instead it stays in the
same date location on the screen jumping/scrolling  week to week.

Sorry, Im only familiar with OL2003... upgraded from OL2000 because of so
many questions like yours.
A lot (not all) of the questions were answered with OL2003.
Hopefully someone with a lot more OL experience will be able to help you.

Good question.
The today date does have a highlight bar on it, but a very light grey
shading, at least on my OL2003 monthly calendar.
Would be nice if it could be darkened or indicated in some other visual.
Id like to see the whole day shaded instead of just a little bar across the
day.
Other ideas?
