We are using outlook 2003 on our network with an exccange server. What i need
to set up is the ability for each user to be able to set up a task, with
popup reminders, and for these reminders to pop up on selected computers on
the network. I have downloaded a program called Exchange Group Calendar,
which allows us to add in appointments, and reminders, but the reminders only
pop up on the computer it is set on. The solution we need basically just has
to cover, being able to set reminders for follow up phone calls (also
allowing us to add in customer details from shared contacts in outlook. Pop
up reminders for tasks, on multiple computers, and a public view of tasks, so
if 1 staff member follows up a call, the task can be checked, so multiple
calls to the 1 client arent made. Is there settings in outlook i can ajust to
be able to do this, or will i need an application for this?

Okay, a little less lost now. I have created a group task list in public
folders. Also, the permissions are set. Everyone i need to work with has full
control. The problem i am having now is implementing the availability to have
pop-up reminders. I know the message says there will be no reminder on this
pc because the task is not in private task list, but how would i go about
linking the public task list to everyones personal task list? No one here
uses their personal list, so privacy will not be an issue. I just need some
method of having any user create a task, and for this task to remind everyone
with permissions to the public task list. C'mon people, im sure you can think
of a way to help me. It would be GREATLY appreciated, because ive scanned the
net for answers, and have found none. If you cant help me, thankx for atleast
reading this.

You have your answer, it is just not the one you are looking for.  Reminders
only work in default folders, not created ones, not public folders.
Extended Reminders by MVP Ken Slovak will only allow for reminders from
additional folders in your default store so that would not work either.

Really? Bugger. Oh well, thanks for that. i have found an alternative anyway.
I downloaded freeware called Sidebar, and everytime the computers on the
network start, there is a bar on the side of the desktop which shows an
analog clock, the weather, and outlook status, eg, inbox, tasks, notes, etc.
Its quite good, because now, when wy workmates start their pc's, the bar
displays 'todays tasks' and it is a inexpensive, simple alternative to what
we needed here.
