How do i get the weekly calendar to show the days of the week?

i have tried every option and customization i could find, but cannot figure
out how to display the day of the week in the heading of the weekly calendar
- all i get is 7/12 - i can't figure out how to get it to show:
Tuesday, 7/12

Make sure that your Long Date Format here includes the token for day name
(dddd): Control Panel > Regional Settings applet > Date tab

Brilliant thank you!  I spent ages trying to work out how to do this in
Outlook and then searched the forum.  So glad someone had already asked it.
