I want to keep a history, but know that the irem was held. Also, is there any
way to show Tasks in the calendar?

1) No. You could move it to the archive calendar or set a category of
Complete then use views to show and hide completed events as needed.

2) Drag to the calendar to create an calendar item or use the task pad. You
can also create a day/wee/month view to use on the tasks folder .
