I would like to be able to put colour on appointments and events in my
Calendar to help distinguish various types. Is it possible in the version I
use which is Microsoft Outlook 2000?  If so how do I go about it?  Thank you
to anybody who can help me.

Not as easily as in OL2003 but you can try using Conditional Formatting to
change the font style based on conditions
