Shared Calendar - Private checkbox not available

I have created a shared calendar in Public Folders.  I would like to post
items to only one calendar so I would like to mark some items as private so
others can not view them.

The Private checkbox in the bottom right hand corner is grayed out - I can
not check this box so others can not see my items.

Does anyone know why this is?

I think it's because the item is in a Public Folder not a private folder in
your mailbox.
