We have a problem with using 2 agendas for 1 user.

This is the situation :

we have the main agenda in Outlook, wich we share, so other people also can
view the public agenda of each person and can add new appointments etc.
We already added also a personal agenda for everyone ( rigth click on
agenda, new map, insert a name and choose the agenda type or rigth click on
the main mailbox, new map, insert name again and choose agenda type ).
Untill there everything OK.

in this personal agenda, we place personal appointments, that the others
dont have to see ( for example : meeting with lawyers, talks with some
collegue etc ), but then occur 2 problems :

- it seems like we cant set an alarm on this personal agenda to notify us
from a new appointment. The popup that appears when wanting to save the new
appointment is translated something like : the appointment for "subject of
the appointment" cant be given because the item isnt placed in the map Agenda
or tasks, does it has to be ?. I can answer with yes and no.  That aint the
meaning, so i say no, i com eback on the appointment, where i can check again
the notification box, save and get the same message again, if i say yes, then
the appointment is saved, but without notification.

- is it also possible that the personal and public ( shared ) agenda
interact with eachother ? For example : is it possible when there is in the
personal agenda an appointment at 10 am that when someone wants to add an
appointment in the public agenda on 10 am that they get a message : "already
planned in in the personal agenda" or something. I know that you already get
such a message when adding a second appointment in the public agenda on the
same time, buth it seems like this cant when using 2 agendas.

We've tried a lot of things to make this work, buth it seems like at this
moment this is not possible with Outlook 2003. And i think this is a good and
interesting feature that can be used in Outlook ( not everyone needs to know
the boss his private agenda, buth the boss wants his secretary to plan
meetings etc, while he still can plan personal points in the same agenda,
that no one else sees, buth when someone else plans something in his agenda
its necessary that this appointment knows abouth the boss his private agenda
so they dont interfer ).

Dont know or it is clear what i mean, buth im always willing to explain if
needed, just give a yell in my mailbox ;)

All your goals can be accomplished simply by having people keep everything in their default Calendar folder. They can mark personal items with the Private box at the lower-right corner of the appointment form.
