I have created a personal folder to filter my incoming emails and organize
them into projects and people. However when I am sent a calendar item that
goes into one of these other folders, the appointment will not show up in my
main calendar. I have to manually select every appt. and move it to the main
calendar. How can I get the appts. to go the main calendar in the first place?

Set an exception in your rules for appointment items.  That way they will
stay in your main in-box and, if you have auto-accept turned on, they will
go to your main calendar.

Hi All!

Is this the only solution to this problem?  Is there no setting anywhere
which tells Outlook to save all appointments (no matter what folder they're
found in) to the default calendar?

If not, is this an issue that was "fixed" in 2007?

Thanks,
Barrett

It is all dependent upon your default location for sending items - if it is a .pst then all items are posted to the .pst.  If it is an Exchange mailbox, then all items are posted there.

You will need to set an exception in your rules for appointment items - there is no way around this in any version of Outlook or Exchange.
