When I click on Calendar in the navigation pane, Annual Events is the default
view instead of work week. How can I make Work Week the default view so it
comes up like that initially?

You should be able to change the view to what you want and Outlook should
remember the view you chose. It does for me.

go to view on the menu click arrange by, click current view, click
day/week/month
