A useful feature of Outlook would be one in which each email message was
automatically parsed to find occurences of dates and times. Based on these
dates and times, appropriate entries will be made in the calender.

For example, if someone were to send an email message to me saying " This
is a reminder of the meeting on Feb. 28th in the conference room from 1pm to
2pm", then once I click to open the email, it would come up as a "new
appointment entry" window with the subject, location, and start/end time
fields populated with the information predicted by the automatic parsing
software. After reading the email I could choose to save it as an
appointment, or not.

It would also be convinient to able to view my email messeage list sorted
based on the time of appointments that were automatically generated by the
messeages.

Why not just set the reminder in the meeting appointment?  Doubling the work
is not efficient.  You already have it in your calendar, correct?  Then why
would having an email reminder also populate a calendar item be useful?  Use
the tool correctly and you will not need to have a second reminder for the
event.
