[This is a re-post of a question in the Outlook General Questions group.  I
think that this is the more appropriate group.]

BACKGROUND:  I am running Outlook 2000 SP3 on Windows XP SP2.  Outlook is
installed in IMO mode*, but the profile has no e-mail (or other) accounts
associated with it, as all I use is the Calendar.

[*In Outlook's Help -- About screen, it says "No E-mail - Security Update"
on the 2nd line, where I expect it to say "Internet Mail Only".  (Is this
because there is no e-mail account set up?)  At any rate, I know that it's
not set up in Corporate/Workgroup mode.]

PROBLEM:  Just a couple of weeks ago I started having a problem where
dismissed reminders would pop up again.  At this point, all reminders for all
appointments since that day pop up whenever I start Outlook (I have 8 old
reminders by now) even though they have each been dismissed multiple times.
Upon dismissal, the reminder window closes, but then returns later in the
Outlook session (I don't know exactly how long it takes to reappear); this
continues as long as Outlook is open.

ATTEMPTED SOLUTIONS:

•  Reboot
•  Compact the .PST (it's only 2 MB)
•  Run ScanPST.exe
•  outlook.exe /cleanviews
•  outlook.exe/cleanfreebusy
•  outlook.exe /cleanreminders

OTHER THOUGHTS/OBSERVATIONS:

•  I also tried to create a new Outlook profile,
figuring that I could then import the data from this .PST to the new one, but
could not figure out how to do it:  the Mail applet in Control Panel only
brings up the "Accounts" screen, but no way to change the Profile.

•  Another thing I've considered is uninstalling/reinstalling Office 2000
(including
Outlook 2000) or upgrading to Office/Outlook 2003.

AND, FINALLY, A PLEA FOR HELP:  Any thoughts on how to fix the issue short
of these fairly major steps (which may or may not fix the problem)?

TIA,
roshan

You might try displaying the calendar in a table view and go through each
reminder until you find the bad ones and then delete them.
