Why do calendars printed for last year not show all appointments

When I print my calendar for last year, I seem to get all of the appointments
for the last six months and before that it only gives me the recurring
appointments. Is there a setting I need to change. Thanks for any help.

Could it be that the appointments have been autoarchived?
