How can I keep calendar events longer than 6 months?

I can't seem to keep my calendar events longer than 6 months. How can I
change this so I keep them for several years?

Right click the calendar icon, select archiving and set it to what you wish.

Milly hate to seem dumb here, but when you say "click the calendar icon" what
are you saying here. I click on my Calendar box which is under the Folder
List, or I right click on a blank day on my calendar and there is no option
to select "archiving"

Right click on the Calendar ICON, not a day.
