my events continually change from one day to two days?

every time I change time zones my events go from their original day to the
day and the day following, so I have to go back and change every single event
to reflect that it is only one day, why?

because they are tied to the time zone in effect when you created them. Use
the dual zone option instead of changing the computer's TZ.
