Outlook calendar view strangeness

My boss' outlook calendar opens to a list of his recurring tasks only. He
needs to click on a different calendar, then click back on his main calendar
for the regular calendar view to be displayed. Every time he exits and
returns to the calendar screen, it defaults back to the view of recurring
tasks only. How do I set up the calendar to open to the normal calendar view?

Select Day/Week/Month in the View drop-down, perhaps?
