In Outlook 2003 I set categories for a series of appointments to indicate
their priority.  As the priority changes I change the category for each
individual appointment.  Outlook 2007 reports that I can't do this.  I can
only change the category for the entire series but not for individual items.
Why the change?

No change at all.  It's still as it was in older versions.  You may be
confusing labels with Categories.

I haven't been able to change categories on recurring appointments in 2007
either.  A dialog box specifically pops up stating that you can't change
categories on a single appointment, only on the entire series.

Also, I have some of the new appointments I make disappear in certain
category filtered views, though most of the time I am copying and pasting an
appointment with the same properties as the one I'm copying from within that
view.  I have even made a new appointment exactly like the one I copied and
pasted, but still doesn't show in the filtered view.  It will show on the
unfiltered calendar.

Maybe this isn't the correct place to ask these questions because it seems a
lot of the help and support you get here on these groups make you feel like
your stupid for complaining about a beta version.  I know this is a beta, but
I want to add my experiences so that the problems can be fixed before the
release.  Is there another place to do this?

I have the same problem. I dont think it is the same. additionally this
problem does not allow you to set a reminder for an individual occurence in a
series; it is grayed out. Try it set up a reccurence then try to edit the
color or reminder individually.
