Does blocking sender really help in eliminating junk mail?

Office Small Business 2003--I dutifully block the senders of email in Outlook
before permanently deleting the messages, but since these nasty people keep
changing emails, this appears to accomplish nothing other than clogging my
"Blocked Sender" list.

you are correct, it does nothing except fill up the list. Set junk mail on
high and use the safe lists - and if outlook's filter isn't good enough to
trap most of the spam, get spambayes or another 3rd party filter.
