change task due dates default

Is there a way to make the due date on a newly created task default to today
instead of none?

You could probably replace the standard form with a tailored one - go ask in
the forms newsgroup.

BTW you can set Start and Due Dates in one go by using the Start Date rather
than Due Date button.
