Contacts button on Meeting Request Screen

What does the button on the lower left side of the Meeting Request screen in
Outlook 2003 do? Our Outlook trainer is wondering what this button's function
is. If you click on it it takes you to your personal contacts list.

It provides a way to link a contact to the meeting without inviting that person.
