I want to create a link that can be posted on my company's intranet or in an
e-mail message that says "add this event to my calendar," without having to
create a meeting request. I've seen this done on websites, a link that
automatically drops an event into Outlook. Can this be done in Outlook, or do
I need another interface?

Create an appointment in Outlook. Save it as an .ics file. Upload that file to your web server. Create a link to that file.
