MS Office Forum / Outlook / Calendaring / August 2006Can I "globally" change time of large number of individual meeting
An imported iCal calendar file scheduled 247 individual meetings for 3:00 a.m. - the events should be "all day." I can't change them as a series since they are indivudual, not "recurring." Is there a way to select and edit them all, or must I update 247 individual events? (They ARE in a single, unique category.) If you want to go back to the .ics file, try opening it in Notepad and doing a search and replace, perhaps for the time zone. I played around with various changes to the raw .vcs file to try to adjust the time zone, but couldn't get it to work consistently. The easiest solution I know is to use Simon Rundell's calendar from http://www.fathersimon.org.uk/calendar/ instead. The .ics version imported just fine for me in the Eastern (U.S.) time zone. I don't know why the .vcs files don't work better. As the page at http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA011235831033.aspx explains, the dates are expressed with as UTC, but the TZ element should provide the right offset. I tried taking out the TZ and changing the time from T080000Z to T050000Z. That worked only on about half the items and still didn't produce true all-day events. It may be that the vCal import in Outlook is just flawed, but the iCal works much better.
